The Worst Advice Ever For Guitar Players

The worst advice ever for guitar players is to not learn other guitar players songs, solos, or licks! Believe it or not, this is actual advice that I either hear people giving out, or bragging about their own approach to learning how to play guitar. But I think this is terrible advice and no guitar teacher or guitar player should ever encourage people to NOT learn how to play guitar solos, songs, or licks by other people. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you go check out Victor Wooten's TED Talk 'Music as a Language'. In it, he talks about his experience of learning music when he was young & how learning music is more like learning a language than it is learning math or science.
