In today's guitar lesson for beginners we're going over fingerpicking step 3 for beginners where we break down Travis picking! Travis picking for beginners is what most people think of when it comes to learning how to fingerpick guitar for beginners. The problem is, if you start with Travis picking before doing straight fingerpicking & 3/4 time fingerpicking, it's easy to get discouraged & confused. So in today's Travis picking lesson I'm going to give you easy fingerpicking patterns to use for 6 string chords, 5 string chords, & 4 string chords that you can use anytime. At the end I'll also show you some Travis picking variations that get used in Travis picking songs like Dust In The Wind by Kansas & Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.

Fingerpicking step 2 covering 3/4 fingerpicking is what we're going over in today's guitar lesson for beginners. Hey guys, Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com with another beginner guitar lesson for you on the second step to take to make learning fingerpicking simple! Fingerpicking is an essential rhythm guitar technique whether you play acoustic guitar or electric guitar. The easiest way to start with fingerpicking is by doing straight fingerpicking (step1) and then to learn 3/4 fingerpicking patterns before diving into Travis style fingerpicking. So in today's fingerpicking guitar lesson for beginners we're going to go over step 2 of learning finger picking with a finger picking pattern for 6 string chords, another 3/4 finger picking pattern for 5 string chords, & then another pattern to use with 4 string chords. This is going to set you up for Travis picking being nice and easy.
