Hey guys, Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com with another beginner guitar lesson for you on the second step to take to make learning fingerpicking simple! Fingerpicking is an essential rhythm guitar technique whether you play acoustic guitar or electric guitar. The easiest way to start with fingerpicking is by doing straight fingerpicking (step1) and then to learn 3/4 fingerpicking patterns before diving into Travis style fingerpicking. So in today's fingerpicking guitar lesson for beginners we're going to go over step 2 of learning finger picking with a finger picking pattern for 6 string chords, another 3/4 finger picking pattern for 5 string chords, & then another pattern to use with 4 string chords. This is going to set you up for Travis picking being nice and easy.
