Struggling to break out of the box on guitar? Try this

playing technique Sep 30, 2021

How to break out of the box on guitar is what we're going over in today's guitar lesson for beginnners. Hey guys, Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com here with another beginner guitar lesson for you on a simple but different way to look at your scales that will help with knowing how to break out of the pentatonic box that so many guitar players find themselves stuck in. The normal two note per string pentatonic scales are really handy, but they only move across the fretboard horizontally. What I'm going to show you today will help you get out of just playing those 5 pentatonic boxes & get to playing along the neck vertically. This is not only going to make you look cooler, but it will help you move between scale positions, too.
