Today I'm going to show you some advice I got from my dad that will help you know how to learn from EVERY guitar player you meet, see, or hear. Hey guys, Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com here with another beginner guitar lesson on mindset and motivation for you. Actually, this guitar mindset tutorial will help you whether you're a beginner or not! Some of the best advice I've ever gotten about how to play guitar came from my dad years ago. He told me, "You can learn something from every guitar player" and that advice has been a came changer for me for years. Now, I just realized while making this video that that advice from my dad also lines up with what Patrick Lencioni talks about in his book The Ideal Team Player where he advocates that in order to be an ideal team player, you need to be humble, hungry, and smart. In order to learn from other guitar players, you need to have those three traits. This is the difference between having an abundance mindset instead of a scarcity mindset as applied to playing guitar and music so that you understand that learning guitar & playing guitar is not a fixed pie of attention or skill. If you want to be competitive with other guitar players & look for ways to feel persecuted by them, you'll find it. But if you want to build community, camaraderie, & collaboration with other guitar players & you look for ways to do that, you'll find that, too. You'll find what you look for. Today's guitar tutorial is different from a lot of guitar tips and tricks, but this kind of guitar mindset will set you up for success & a happier life in general.
