Where do chords come from on guitar? Hey guys, Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com here with another guitar lesson for beginners. In today's guitar tutorial I'm going to show you how chords work so you can easily figure out what chords are going to sound good together! We're going to look at the questions of 'what are chords?', 'where do chords come from?', & 'how do chords work?' to try to make it simple for you as you learn how to play guitar.
A few other things I'm going to show you in today's beginner guitar lesson is the major chord formula that you can use to make a major chord off of any note, the minor chord formula, the diminished chord formula, & the major key chord formula that will let you easily figure out exactly what the basic chords in any major key are.
