This is actually a really, simple tip. Most of the time when people play a chord progression, they change the chord on beat one of the next measure. Instead, what I want you to experiment with is changing chords earlier like on beat number 4 or the 'and' of 4. The listeners ear won't expect this change as much so it will instantly spice up any chord progression you're playing & make it sound better. Give this a try on the next chord progression you're working on in your songwriting or with any chord progression exercises you're working on with your strumming & see how much of an impact it can have.
