The best way to learn scales on guitar is not to just print off scales from the internet and play them. Welcome to today's guitar lesson for beginners guys, I'm Brad Litton from SimpleGuitar.com with another beginner guitar lesson that will help you actually understand what is going on with the scales you learn. Today we're going to take the A Minor Pentatonic scale, the first scale most guitar players learn, & break it down to show you why there are 5 different pentatonic scale positions all across the neck. We're going to start by finding out what the notes of the scale are, then we're going go in a 2 notes per string pattern walking through the notes of the scale until we find 2 notes on each string. When we're all done with this, you'll see WHY we have different scale positions for one scale & then you can use this same method to help you better understand ANY scale.
